10 Commandments of Flexible Eating

In coaching flexible eating, we’ve found that most of our time is spent talking people away from bad information they once thought true. So, let’s set the record straight: fat does not make you fat, carbs are not the devil, and it’s okay to eat past 7pm. Mind blown? Let us continue:

  1. Thou shalt not deprive yourself of foods you like.
  2. Thou shalt eat on a schedule that works for you and your lifestyle.
  3. Thou shalt view flexible eating as a lifestyle, not as a diet with an end date.
  4. Thou shalt accept dietary blunders and calmly get back on track.
  5. Thou shalt take mental rest days from tracking and weighing.
  6. Thou shalt not avoid social events or other food-centric adventures to stay on track.
  7. Thou shalt not have a diet full of junk just because you can.
  8. Thou shalt not feel guilt when eating foods you enjoy.
  9. Thou shalt stop looking at foods as “good” or “bad”.
  10. Thou shalt value accuracy (when weighing and measuring), flexibility (in the foods you eat), and consistency (in hitting your macros) above all else.
