Who are you and what do you do?

I’m Jeb Bisset, a 28 year old male. I’m a CrossFit coach at Dynamic Athletics and a hot tub technician.

Why did you start flexible eating?

I started on March 13, 2017. I wanted to get under 20% body fat since it’s been high ever since my hernia surgery a while back. I won a bet against Georgette that if I squat snatched 125 pounds by June, she would buy me a steak dinner. I crushed that and decided to change the dinner into joining Fuel Your Fitness.

What is your personal definition of flexible eating?

Flex eating is eating what you want but being aware of what is going into your body. It makes eating or drinking a lot of things seem worthless, like light beers.

What was your diet like before flexible eating?

A little too many cheat days and probably too much fat. A lot of craft beer.

What has been your biggest breakthrough since flexible eating?

Just being aware of what to eat but the biggest one is learning not to leave too many macros until the evening or you will be force feeding yourself to hit your goals.

What are your goals regarding flexible eating and beyond?

I want to flexible eat as long as possible. I am enjoying it. I would like to keep my body fat low. Additional muscle is never a bad thing either.

What are your three most important guidelines you give yourself?

  • Eat what you enjoy, and try new things. Flexible does not include limiting yourself.

  • Look up the menu at restaurants before you go. It makes tracking easier.

  • Let loose once in a while. Track it though. It makes you conscious of what you eat when you’re not actively trying to hit your macros.

What is the best piece of advice you wish you had when starting flexible eating that could help newbies?

Flexible eating is fun! To me, it’s a big puzzle figuring out what I get to eat that day. You don’t have to be confined to a ‘diet’. This way of eating is what you make of it.
