‘Tis the season for outdoor barbecues! But a barbecue is only as good as the marinade you use to grill your proteins. This snappy soy honey mustard marinade was shared with us by the folks at Brown Dog Fancy, an artisanal specialty food company that makes seven different varieties of organic mustards! This marinade is light on macros, but heavy on flavor. The best part? It’s super easy to make and goes great on both fish and chicken.

  • 1 cup Brown Dog Fancy Spicy Honey Dijon
  • 1 tbs Soy Sauce Low Sodium
  • 1 tbs White Vinegar

  1. Start with one cup of Brown Dog Fancy Spicy Honey Dijon (or regular Honey Dijon) and add soy sauce and vinegar to taste.

For salmon or tuna, rub the meaty side of the fish with the marinade before grilling and cook as you would normally. Feel free to add more as you go.

For chicken, add the appropriate amount of marinade to cover all chicken surfaces. Let the marinade sit in the refrigerator for at least three hours and then grill or roast.

Recipe Notes

You may have some flair ups due to the honey in the mustard so keep a keen eye to make sure you don’t end up with an unanticipated blackened tuna or cajun chicken!
